Finding the Courage to Do What You Love
There was a time when I thought confidence was something you either had or didn’t. I believed that one day I would wake up feeling ready, certain, and sure of myself. That day never came.
Instead, I learned that confidence is built quietly, in moments when you feel unsure and choose to keep going anyway.
Not having confidence doesn’t mean you aren’t capable. Most of the time, it means you care deeply. When something matters to you, fear tends to show up louder. You question yourself. You wonder if you belong here. You hesitate before sharing your work or calling it your own.
For me, starting Pepperwood Petal came with a lot of doubt. I worried about doing things wrong. I worried about not knowing enough. I worried about being seen before I felt ready. But I kept showing up, one small step at a time.
Confidence didn’t arrive first. It followed the action.
Like growing flowers, so much happens beneath the surface before anything blooms. Roots form quietly. Strength builds where no one can see it. The same is true for people.
Doing what you love doesn’t require fearlessness. It requires honesty. It requires choosing yourself even when your voice shakes and your hands feel unsteady.
If you’re waiting to feel confident before you begin, let this be your reminder. You don’t need to be ready. You just need to start.
The confidence you’re searching for will meet you along the way.
